Minutes of the meeting of 11/27/17
Meeting Opened at: 9am
Select Board Members Present: Steve Weisz, Chairperson, Carol Edelman and Kenneth Basler
Also in attendance: Jeremia Pollard, Terry Walker
Miscellaneous Items Reviewed:
- The Board reviewed and signed a letter to Peter Larkin confirming the main contact for Monterey as well as a letter to Charter with a copy of the Larkin letter and an invitation to attend a forum in December.
- Carol provided a copy of a letter from the Ethics Commission confirming that there is no further action necessary on a claim made regarding her participation in matters involving a local internet service provider.
- The Board continued reviewing the preliminary budget requests submitted for FY19 in preparation to present a 1st draft to the Finance Committee on Wednesday.
- The Board accepted Robert Lazzarini’s resignation from the Board of Assessor’s effective December 16 as he has sold his Monterey home.
- Warrants were signed.
At 10am the Board discussed going into executive session to discuss litigation strategy. A motion was made to enter into executive session to discuss litigation strategy. Roll call was taken by the Chair. Present: Steve Weisz, Chair of the Select Board, Carol Edelman, Select Board member, Kenn Basler, Select Board member, Melissa Noe, Administrative Assistant and Jeremia Pollard, Town Counsel. All were present. The Board will return to open session. The motion was seconded and unanimously approved.
The Board returned to open session at 11:15am and continued working on the FY19 budget.
A motion was made and unanimously approved to adjourn the meeting at: 12:26pm
